It might be freezing in New York City, but sunny skies, rooftops and Nolita streets made for the best backdrop for shooting beautiful images of one of our favorite style makers, blogger Madelynn Furlong (see her NYFW diary here !). Less is more for Maddy, but there’s no doubt that the Fossil x Opening Ceremony bags and watches fit her tom(girl) style just perfectly.

For the show, Maddy switched to black culottes, blush lace bomber jacket and a gray bouclé coat, along with the #FossilxOC Howlite bangle watch and the black and white bag. “I really like the reversible bag,”—Maddy mentioned in between shots. “It’s super easy to wear, and it’s a really nice size. Especially for fashion week, because you can carry your camera in it, an extra layer if you’re cold, flats, and it still looks really chic.”
We knew we were up for a treat the minute we walked into the Opening Ceremony show’s venue inside Pier 90. The space was converted into a 3D recreation of a Syd Mead drawing with futuristic, inflatable cars hanging from the ceiling. Think of Mead as the brains behind some of the most iconic images behind Blade Runner, Tron and Star Trek: The Motion Picture.
Fossil x Opening Ceremony Fall 2016 watches
We saw a plethora of layered metallic looks that worked perfectly with the new updated Fossil x Opening Ceremony bangle watches. “We were very inspired by this idea of strong women, what they’re doing, and what they’re excited about. She’s very cool, but she’s very down to earth. The pieces are exciting because they are very approachable,”—Carol Lim (one half of the OC creative duo) commented before the show.
The watches you see on the runway are a continuation of our current spring collaboration, however, made of a brand new mix of materials: mother-of-pearl and crystal pavé dials. The lighter bangles matched the aqua looks on the runway, and other darker versions complemented bright dresses with dark mother-of-pearl faces—always worn over long sleeves (style tip for fall!). As Carol said, “They’re kind of the thing that you can wear from day to evening! They’re both a fashion piece, but also a staple.” We couldn’t have said it best.
